Our members are still holding fast to Point 9 of the A.S.P.E.C. Phase 2, 10 Point Action Plan Update, by allowing only a maximum of 2 technicians into the work place, in order to carry out equipment testing. However, some of the A.S.P.E.C. companies are still experiencing some resistance to this particular necessary protocol, from both technicians and production. There seems to be no understanding, as to the damage, which could ensue, should a non-employee of the company, either prove to be asymptomatic, a carrier of Covid-19 (Coronavirus) and/or infectious. It could result, in the loss to the company of a number of employees, needing to self-isolate for 14 days, employees becoming infected or the workplace needing to shut down for a period. All of which, would be damaging to the effected business both financially and from a confidence point of view. Indeed, it could result in the closure of the business all together, something which none of us working in the industry would want. Therefore, when the opportunity presents itself. Please would you be so kind, as to impress, on both individual technicians, production personnel and companies, that the guidelines and protocols A.S.P.E.C. have put in place, are for the protection of not only their staff but the wider production community in general. Thank you in advance and do keep safe. Kind regards, Barry Measure CLICK HERE FOR THE PDF INFO
