Bring your own GBCT Picnic - 6 July 2024 (London & Belfast)

Updated: Jul 10

The weather Gods took against us for the GBCT picnics on Saturday. Bristol had the good sense to postpone.

Belfast summoned 12 hardy Camera and Grip crew,  plus partners, children and one jaunty dog, despite the less than ideal weather.  Ryan Kernaghan from the Irish Society of Cinematographers attended, as well as some Friends of the ACO. Thanks to Ryan Douglas, GBCT who supplied music, organised team games and showed by example more stoicism than the London contingent!

"A few attendees in Belfast had questions about the Guild. So it was worthwhile in raising awareness in the region and everyone was grateful for it being organised.”

Regents Park was suitable only for the splendid collection of aquatic birds that live there, So 9 dedicated GBCT and ACO guest Party Animals took shelter in The Volunteer pub and had a very fine, though less energetic time. Rain hats off to: Max Rijavec, Theo Spearman, Aurel Wunderer, Cathy Crawley, Christina Nowak, David Barrett, Rachel Wood, Sarah Hayward and Lorraine Luke and thank you to Max for the photograph.

Here’s hoping that the forthcoming picnics in Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds and Manchester will defy the odds and have better weather!
