STEADICAM WORKSHOP

The GBCT’s 5-day Steadicam course is now considered one of the best available and those attending will receive tuition of the highest standard.  The tutors will be current working practitioners – experienced and respected for what they do and who are willing to impart their knowledge and skills to others.

 

The course is specifically designed for technicians moving towards working in the Steadicam arena.  It is essential that applicants are physically fit and comfortable with carrying heavy equipment for long periods of time.

FOCUS PULLERS WORKSHOP

This intensely practical workshop is aimed at new focus pullers and established loaders who want to increase their focus pulling knowledge and skills.

 

Over four days, you will cover a wide range of skills that form part of a Focus Puller’s job.

THE ART AND CRAFT OF THE CAMERA OPERATOR

The ART AND CRAFT OF THE CAMERA OPERATOR is a series of short, illustrative and sometimes very practical workshops/seminars that explore and analyze the aesthetic and technical skills that all good Camera Operators should have.  Designed to be taught in small, select groups, these seminars or workshops aim to provide budding camera operators with the tools required to take them to the next stage of their careers.

COURSE 1 – AN INTRODUCTION TO DRAMA CAMERA OPERATING

This one-day practical seminar allows those attending to explore the intuitive skills all good camera operators must have to compose shots for the dynamic within the frame – to tell the story properly and to allow good dramatic cuts to the material.

Course date: TUESDAY 3 MARCH 2020

COURSE 2 – USING GEARED AND REMOTE HEADS

This one-day very practical course is aimed at operators who need/want to widen their knowledge by learning how best to use geared heads and finding out more about their craft and how to keep control of the frame for dolly, crane and remote head shots.

FILM LOADING WORKSHOP

This special 4-day course is available to all those interested in the particular film techniques necessary to safely manage film loading, handling, stock control, paperwork and note taking to create negative report sheets that must be sent with the exposed film to be delivered to the film laboratory for development.  The course consists of film theory and a great many practical exercises in loading using a variety of the different film cameras most commonly used in production today.
